Changing Careers
Now and then, you may consider if you want to continue
working as a prostitute in the near future. You may not like the
business anymore or even work in this business against your
will. You may make too little money in prostitution or find it
difficult to combine this job with caring for your family. There
are various reasons why you may want to change jobs.

Is this my dream job?
If you have been working in the same industry for some time,
you tend to forget about your other qualities. The Changing
Careers programme can support you in discovering and
listing your talents and experience.
Depending on your desires and possibilities, a counsellor will
help you find another job, an internship or a training. You may
also decide to continue working as a prostitute.

Are you up to a career change?
A new career is bound to be challenging. How do you know
if you are ready to change jobs? There may be many reasons
why you find it difficult to change jobs. You may have financial
difficulties or negative experiences with authorities, you may
doubt your qualities or lack shelter. We can help you find
solutions for matters which stop you from starting a new
career. You can also participate in training programmes to
help you prepare for a different job.

Would you like to know what Changing
Careers can do for you?

Changing Careers departs from your needs and desires.
You decide if you want to participate and what you want to
participate in. Changing Careers is there for:

· assistance in money matters, education and work
· choice of profession tests
· application training
· support groups
· referral in case of addiction or mental problems
· a buddy

What ’s our procedure?
Please sign up by telephone or email. A relief worker will
contact you for an intake interview. If you already have a relief
worker at Shop, she can sign you up. After the intake we will
decide if Changing Careers is ‘your cup of tea’. Changing
Careers will then discuss the obstacles and opportunities
with regard to starting an education or a new career.
Together, we will prepare a counselling plan. You can also
take tests to find out what your capabilities or preferences
are. We will then help you make choices and achieve your
goal.
Changing Careers cooperates with Social Affairs and
Employment Services and Foundation De Haven. We also
work with permanent contacts at employment agencies
and rehabilitation programmes. Upon your request, your
counsellor will accompany you when you meet authorities.

How do we cope with privacy?
Protection of your privacy is guaranteed at Shop. If we need
to consult authorities we will - obviously - only do so with
your consent.
